Ballymacarbry

Mountain ViewsThis village enjoys a beautiful setting and is the centre for people looking for action and good company in the Comeragh Mountains and the Nire Valley. Clonanav Farmhouse provides angling expertise and instruction for the dedicated game angler.

The Nire Valley has the terrain to suit every grade of walker from the experienced mountaineer to the complete beginner.

Melody's Nire Valley Riding Stables arrange treks through some of the most beautiful scenery in Waterford and Nire Valley Failte, the local tourism association, have a series of published walks and run an annual Comeragh Mountain Walking Festival. Michael Desmond conducts guided walks through the surrounding hills.

Access to the East Munster Way long distance walking route can be gained at Fourmilewater, a few kms north-west of Ballymacarbry. The village is on the Comeragh Mountain Drive.
